2014's Just Us finds Faust as fearless as ever. Led by founding members Zappi Diermaier and Jean-Hervé Péron, the band move from a chaotic din of roaring guitars and rumbling drums to stripped-down, rhythm-based tracks bearing eerie atmospherics; the common thread, as ever, seems to simply be the idea of following Faust's mischievous muse wherever it leads. An added unconventional wrinkle is the fact that the band made Just Us with the avowed intent of having others use it as source material for samples and remixes, though it sounds quite complete on its own.
