883 (read as Otto Otto Tre) were an Italian pop rock group founded in Pavia. The group was initially composed of Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto until Mauro left in 1994. The story of 883 began in Pavia in the eighties, when Massimo Pezzali, later known as Max Pezzali, and Mauro Repetto, found themselves classmates at school. A few years later, they made their debut in 1989 by participating in the program 1, 2, 3 Jovanotti hosted on Italia 1 by the then emerging Jovanotti . .
