With her inaugural Spanish-language recording, jazz-pop vocalist Natalie Cole carries on a family tradition—her father, Nat "King" Cole, recorded three albums in Spanish between 1958 and 1962. The luscious opener, "Frenesi," sets a relaxed tone, making an excellent showcase of Cole's dusky voice. Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli assists on the samba-infused "Bésame Mucho," while Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra adds delicate vocals to "Bachata Rosa." In the spirit of her 1991 tribute album Unforgettable...With Love, Cole here duets with her late father on the slinky "Acércate."
