On his artful and ambitious concept album (the title of which translates to “My Plans Are to Love You”), Colombian superstar Juanes presents a dozen infectious songs about traversing time and space to find his soul mate. Fittingly, the album blends the sounds he grew up on (salsa, guasca, and a little disco) with futuristic twists; “Actitud” and “Fuego” are laced with slick electronic accents such as fizzing synths and syncopated guitars. Mis Planes Son Amarte includes collaborations with Fonseco (“Alguna Vez”) and Kali Uchis (“Un Ratico”), and the PooBear-produced track “Goodbye for Now,” Juanes’ first song ever recorded in English.
