The Stills-Young Band was a short-lived band consisting of Stephen Stills and Neil Young. The group was formed after a failed attempt to create a new Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young album. When David Crosby and Graham Nash were forced to leave the effort due to contractual obligation for their Crosby & Nash project, Stills and Young stripped the recorded tracks of Crosby and Nash's contributions and released the material as Long May You Run in September, 1976. .
