The Naked and the Dead was a short-lived but influential gothic rock/deathrock band from New York, founded in 1985. They split up after issuing one eponymous five-song demo cassette in October 1985. The band reformed in 2002, and then again for a 20th anniversary show in 2005.
The band reformed in 2002 with new vocalist Julia Ghoulia, and performed that December for the first time in 17 years at Great Lakes in Brooklyn, NY. In celebration of the band's 20th Anniversary .
