The mysterious Joost Kolker hails from the Dutch province of Drenthe. In 2020 he dropped a seasonal synth pop tune called 'Kerstmis 1984' ('Christmas 1984'). Rumor had it that Kolker is a friend of well-known singer-songwriter, Daniël Lohues, and lives in the same village. After the release of his single, Kolker displayed a strong tendency to back out of radio interviews and let Lohues do the talking on his behalf... Coming to think of it, the voice in the song really sounds a lot like Lohues', too. .
