Dustan Townsend, the lead vocalist and cellist behind Fish in a Birdcage, is based out of Calgary Alberta and studied music at Red Deer College. Though Fish in a Birdcage is predominantly Dustan, he often invites guests to participate in his music. Fish in a Birdcage describes its music as modern Renaissance, Electronica to folk strings.
Fish in a Birdcage released its first and eponymous EP Fish in a Birdcage on November 2nd 2014 and has released one EP, four albums, and three singles to date. .
