D'Angelo (1974-2025) was an American neo-soul singer, keyboardist, and guitarist, who released two albums as D'Angelo, followed by a third and final full-length studio outing in collaboration with his band The Vanguard, after 14 years of metaphorical silence. This album, (2014's Black Messiah) may be scrobbled as an album by D'Angelo and The Vanguard, but it is nowadays listed on streaming platforms as a D'Angelo album, so most scrobbles will probably end up there. .
