More than one artist/band carry the name Breakwater, including a 70's Philly funk act later sampled by Daft Punk, and a mid 90's era Canadian hardcore band. 1. Funk and soul American band from Philadelphia, formed in 1971. The band consisted of Gene Robinson, James Gee Jones, Linc 'Love' Gilmore, Steve Green, Vince Garnell, Greg Scott, John 'Dutch' Braddock, and Kae Williams, Jr. The band released two albums: Breakwater in 1978, and Splashdown in 1980. .
